- Q- Why do I need a barcode on my mailing piece?
- A- To qualify for
optimal postal discounts.
- Q- Why is it required to have wafer tab closures on my folded pieces of mail?
- A- Postal requirements need to be met and the tabs prevent the
mailing piece from opening when it is processed through postal equipment.
- This keeps it from jamming in the postal equipment.
- Q- Why are sheet labels more costly than 1-UP labels?
- A- Sheet labels have to be applied by hand, while 1-UP labels can be applied by machine.
- Q- Why is direct image addressing much more cost efficient?
- A- With direct image addressing, the address is directly printed on
the mailing piece. When using labels the cost of labels, cost of
generating the labels and the process of manually affixing them on the
the mailing piece need to be considered.
- Q- Why is glossy stock difficult to work with on an inkjet?
- A- The ink is water based and needs to penetrate the paper. With a glossy finish the ink sits on the gloss finish, preventing it from drying on the paper.
- Q- Is Cheshire labeling cost effective today?
- A- No. Direct image addressing is the most affordable way of addressing.
In addition, with direct image addressing, a teaser line or missing
information such as permit imprints can be effortlessly printed.
